#11 Rowan Downs NJCU, 3-0, Advances to NJAC Championship Game

Profs to face TCNJ on Friday at 5 p.m. here in Glassboro in the NJAC title game

Game Highlights

GLASSBORO, NJ -- #11 Rowan advanced to the NJAC Championship game with a 3-0 win over New Jersey City in a semifinal matchup Tuesday night.

The Profs will welcome #15 TCNJ, who defeated Montclair State, 3-2, in Tuesday's other semifinal here to Glassboro on Friday with a 5 p.m. start.

Gabby Dean scored twice and Mackenzie Clement also tallied as the Profs reach the title game for the third year in a row. Goalie Calista Burke and the defense held the opposition without a goal for the seventh-straight contest.

Rowan got on the board in the 16th minute when Lianna SanFelice worked a short flip into the box to a streaking Dean who beat Gothic Knight goalie Sophia Mannino for her seventh tally on the year.

It stayed 1-0 into the second half thanks to Mannino who turned away Dean on a well-placed header off a corner in the 65th minute. With play starting to pick up on both sides, the Profs were able to net two goals in the final eight minutes. Dean netted her second score and eighth this season after she picked up a failed clear near the box and raced in to sneak one under Mannino for the 2-0 lead in the 83rd minute.

Clement capped the scoring with her team-leading 15th goal on the year just over four minutes later.

Mannino finished the evening with seven saves for New Jersey City.
