SWARTHMORE, PA –
Julia Patrone scored the game-winning goal three minutes into overtime to give #3 Rowan field hockey a 2-1 win at Swarthmore, as the Profs move to 3-0 on the year.
Bridget Guinan set up the play with a centering pass from the right side, which Patrone collected in the circle, turned and fired a backhander into the cage. It was the eight game-winning goal for the sophomore, and her first this year.

The lead was short-lived as Swarthmore had four straight penalty corners in the final minutes of the third quarter and converted with :06 to play, as Katherine Kohn notched the tying goal.
Rowan kept up the pressure in the fourth quarter, outshooting the Garnets, 8-1, but still couldn't capitalize and needed the extra period. The Profs took three shots in the overtime, with Patrone able to give Rowan the win.
