GLENSIDE, PA –
Julia Patrone scored a hat trick and four other Profs got into the scoring column as #2 Rowan rolled to a 7-1 win at Arcadia in field hockey action this afternoon. The Profs are now 7-0 on the season.
The Profs also got goals from
Rachel Stone,
Sidney Pavlishin,
Kristiina Castagnola and
Cienna Bosher.
For Patrone, it was her second three-goal game of the year, and the fifth of her career. The sophomore started the scoring the first quarter at 14:32 after picking up a loose ball in the circle, after Rowan had taken one of their 13 penalty corners in the game.
Stone, a senior, scored her second goal of the year just three minutes later in the early part of the second quarter. After Arcadia (1-5) notched its lone goal, Pavlishin, a freshman, tallied the first goal of her career just 45 seconds later at 21:50 and Patrone added another at 26:19 to increase Rowan's lead to 4-1.
Patrone tallied her third goal less than one minute into the third quarter as senior
Liz Fox handed out the assist. Castagnola took a pass from Patrone and scored at 35:11, with Bosher scoring her first goal as a Prof at 38:24 to close out the scoring for Rowan.
Rowan outshot the Knights, 30-8, and Profs' goalkeeper
Abby Hainsworth made five saves on the day.
The Profs have a quick turnaround and will be back in action on Friday night when they host Cabrini at 6 p.m.
