EWING, NJ – Top-seeded TCNJ defeated second-seeded Rowan, 18-3, to win the NJAC Women's Lacrosse Championship, ending the Profs' six-game winning streak.
The seventh-ranked Lions (15-2) stormed out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back building up a 10-0 lead with 7:10 to play in the second quarter.
NJAC Rookie of the Year
Molly Green got the Profs (10-8) on the board as she took a pass from
Shannen Sterner and scored with :22 left.
Erin Renshaw scored a man-up goal at 11:02 of the third, with the assist from Green, as TCNJ led, 11-2.
Rowan's leading scorer
Ashley Lechliter netted the final goal of the year with 9:31 left, giving her 47 on the year and 121 in her career. Senior
Elise Cohan had the assist as she ended the season with a career-best 58 points (46 goals, 12 assists).
