Softball to Square Off With TCNJ On Sunday for NJAC Championship

Tournament schedule amended due to inclement weather

GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan will face off with TCNJ on Sunday, May 8th at 1 p.m. in a winner-take-all game for the 2022 New Jersey Athletic Conference Softball Championship as the amended tournament schedule was announced Saturday morning. The game will take place at Kean University.

As per the NJAC statement: "Due to inclement weather that has impacted the tournament schedule on both May 6 and May 7, the Games Committee, in consultation with administrators from each of the four remaining teams following the conclusion of Game 6, has made the determination that the tournament will not be able to be played to its completion prior to the deadline for the NJAC to submit its automatic qualification to the NCAA on May 8. As such, the Games Committee determined that per conference policy, the conference championship and the league's automatic qualification will be awarded to the team that achieves a record of 3-0 in tournament play."

The Profs and Lions, both 2-0 in the conference tournament, will decide the title on Sunday for the NJAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Rowan scored wins over Montclair State (8-0) and Ramapo (3-0) in the opening rounds while TCNJ owns victories over the Roadrunners (1-0) and Kean (7-5) to get to this point in the tournament.
