Anthony Schooley drove in the go-ahead run, and
Hunter Wroniuk drove in an insurance run as #7 Rowan rallied to defeat Penn State Abington, 9-7, fighting back from a five-run deficit. The Profs improve to 19-5 on the season with their third straight win.
Pinch hitter
Dylan Maria tied the game, 7-7, with a solo home run in the seventh inning, his first as a Prof. In the eighth,
Nick Fazio bunted to get on base and eventually scored on a single by Schooley. With two outs, Wroniuk singled to bring home
Ryan Mostrangeli, who had reached base on a fielder's choice.Â
Patrick Sudnikovich (2-0) earned the win in relief, striking out two in the eighth inning while
Christian Bascunan picked up his fourth save of the season, working the ninth inning.
Ryan Mostrangeli was 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI, while
Ryan Murphy went 3-for-4 on the day with a run scored.
Patrick Defeciani was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and Wroniuk was 2-for-4 with two RBI.Â
Penn State Abington scored first in the first inning and the Profs tied it in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI double by Mostrangeli, which scored Defeciani.Â
In the second, Penn State took advantage of three Rowan errors as it scored three runs on only one hit to go up, 4-1, and then increased it to 5-1 with one more in the third inning.Â
The Profs got one back in the fourth when
Brandon Shine hit a sacrifice fly to score Wroniuk.

After Penn State went up 7-2 in the fifth, the Profs started their comeback. Mostrangeli doubled in Murphy and
Eric DiDomenico followed with a single to bring home Defeciani. Wroniuk hit a sacrifice fly that scored Mostrangeli to pull Rowan within, 7-6. The comeback was completed in the next inning when Maria sent one over the fence to tie the game, 7-7.

Sudnikovich shut down Penn State in the eighth, with two strikeouts, and got the third out on a shot caught by a leaping
Marco Mannino at shortstop. After a leadoff double against Bascunan in the ninth, the senior struck out two and then got a ground out to preserve the win.

Rowan continues its stretch of nine games in eight days when it hosts TCNJ on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. The Profs will then visit TCNJ on Friday before hosting a doubleheader on Saturday against Ramapo.
