PITMAN, NJ - Seven Rowan student-athletes earned weekly awards from the NJAC, as announced today, led by NCAA track champions
Jah'mere Beasley and
Nana Agyemang, and All-American
Ahmir Johnson. Other honorees are
Reilly Shaup and
Molly Green from women's lacrosse,
Makayla Taylor from women's track and field and
Rylee Lutz of the Profs' softball team.
Beasley (track), Johnson (field), and Agyemang (rookie) all took home honors at the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. Beasley was named an All-American in the 200 meters, then teamed with Agyemang,
Marquise Young, and
Amara Conte to win the 4x400 relay. Johnson nabbed All-American honors in the triple jump.
Shaup, the Profs' goalkeeper made seven saves while facing 21 shots as Rowan upset #24 Washington College, 15-7. Teammate Green, a freshman attacker, scored three goals to aid the victory, giving her a total of seven goals thus far in her rookie season.
Taylor was the Profs' lone women's track representative at the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships where she finished 15th in the weight throw.
Lutz went 2-0 last week, scoring a win in relief against Muskingum and in a start vs. Amherst in the team's opening games in Florida. Against Muskingum, the rookie threw 4.2 innings, yielding one earned run on three hits to earn the W in a 4-3 walk-off win. She made the start on Sunday against Amherst, going three scoreless innings with three strikeouts as the Profs posted a 13-0 decision in five innings over the Mammoths.
