DAVENPORT, FL - The #10 Rowan baseball team fell victim to a late-innings rally by Oswego State, dropping a 10-5 decision in the RussMatt Invitational.
Anthony Schooley went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while catcher Hunter Wroniuk was 2-for-2 for Rowan (5-2).
Trailing 1-0 in the early going, Rowan scored three runs in the fourth helped by a two-run double from Schooley and an RBI single by Trip McCaffrey.
Oswego State (7-2) then took over the game, scoring two in the fifth to tie it, 4-4, and then adding three more in the seventh and four in the eighth.
The Profs got their final run in the bottom of the ninth after Schooley doubled and eventually scored on a wild pitch.
Starter Jason O'Neill went 6 ⅔ innings and struck out six, but reliever David Levin (1-1) would take the loss.
Rowan returns to action on Wednesday when it faces nationally-ranked Wheaton (Mass.) at 10:30 a.m.
