Men's Basketball Rallies to Defeat Lancaster Bible in Overtime, 108-98, at Randolph-Macon Tournament

Ross, Seager and Ross all hit for 20-plus points; Dickerson's shot forces overtime

ASHLAND, VA – Connor Dickerson hit a three-pointer with :10 left in regulation to force overtime as Rowan fought back to pick up a 108-98 victory over Lancaster Bible in the consolation game of the Randolph-Macon Coaches Tournament. Ja'Zere Noel scored 29 points, Andrew Seager had 25 and Marcellus Ross tallied 23 points to lead the Profs (9-3).

The Profs rallied from a seven-point deficit, 93-86, with 1:43 to play, helped by two baskets from Ross and one from Noel, which pulled Rowan within 93-92 at :53. Lancaster Bible (4-6) used a layup by Adam Stoltzfus at :34 to take a 95-92 lead to set up Dickerson's bucket, which came after three misses by Rowan. Lancaster Bible had a chance to win the game at the buzzer, but Seth Beers' three-point attempt was off the mark.

Rowan trailed by as many as 14 in the game, 44-30, in the first half, as the Profs struggled from the perimeter, hitting just one three-pointer. Seager and Ahmad Bickley scored the final six points of the half for Rowan, to allow it to pull within 45-36 at halftime.

The Profs continued their rally with a 12-2 run at the start of the second half and took the 48-47 lead on a jumper by Noel at 16:30. The teams traded leads throughout the rest of the half until Lancaster Bible took an 86-84 advantage with 4:02 remaining and held that until Rowan's rally in the final 1:43.

Rowan outscored the Chargers, 13-3, in the extra period, paced by seven points from Dickerson and six free throws from Seager, who had 11 rebounds in the game.
