Women's Basketball Has Four in Double Figures to Help Outrun Ramapo, 81-66

Highlights

GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan knocked off Ramapo, 81-66, Saturday afternoon at Esbjornson Gymnasium in a New Jersey Athletic Conference matchup.

The Profs led 50-30 at the half as by as much as 33 points late in the third quarter en route to the victory, its third in the last four games.

Eliana Santana led the home team with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Nicole Mallard (13), Dakota Adams (13), and Danielle McCurdy (10) also hit for double figures. McCurdy added two blocks and a personal-best six assists.

After Ramapo raced out to a 7-0 lead in the first, the Profs responded with nine-straight points. Heading into the second quarter with a 24-16 advantage, Santana's bucket in the paint capped a 14-2 run to help open up a 38-18 edge with six minutes and change in the half.

In the third, Rowan held Ramapo without a field goal in the stanza and outscored the Roadrunners, 18-7, to hold a 68-37 lead entering the final 10 minutes of action.

Jackie Ventricelli paced the Roadrunners with 19 points and nine rebounds. Jada Thompson added 14 points and six assists as the Profs handed Ramapo its first defeat of the season.

Rowan will head to Gwynedd Mercy next Saturday, December 17th for a matchup with the Griffins. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m.
