GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan remained unbeaten in NJAC play with an 86-67 victory over visiting Ramapo on Saturday.
Marcellus Ross netted 21 points and
Ja'Zere Noel kicked in 20 as the Profs put together its seventh win in a row.
Andrew Seager and
Josh Wright chipped in 13 points apiece while the team turned 23 Roadrunner turnovers into 24 points.
Shane Rooney led Ramapo with 13 points. Teammate Peter Gorman added 11 as the Roadrunners dropped its fourth straight.
Ramapo led by six (21-15) at the 10:56 mark of the first half before Rowan ended the period on a 25-9 run giving the home team a 40-30 edge at the break.
A three-point play from
Stretch Hawkins and later a big throwdown dunk were part of another big scoring run after the Roadrunners climbed within 50-45 with 14 minutes in the contest. Over the next seven-plus minutes, the Profs outscored the visitors, 19-1, for its largest lead of the contest with 7:25 to play.
Noel was also the top rebounder for the squad with eight caroms. Ross and
Connor Dickerson each had three steals while
D'Andre Vilmar had four assists. Hawkins finished with nine points and seven boards.
Next up for Rowan is a non-conference tilt next Saturday, December 17th, here in Glassboro against Salisbury in a 6 p.m. start.
