EWING, NJ -- Rowan suffered a 71-52 defeat at The College of New Jersey on Wednesday evening in an NJAC matchup for both teams.
The Profs trailed by four at halftime but saw the Lions hit nine of its 12 three-pointers in the second half to help open up a double-figure lead.
Savanna Holt paced Rowan with 10 points while
Ayanna Johnson grabbed nine rebounds and added three assists.
TCNJ was led by Nina Branchizio, who hit five three-pointers to finish with a game-high 17 points. Izzy Leazier contributed 13 points and 11 boards for a double-double.
Rowan led 13-11 after the first quarter but fell behind 32-28 at the break. The Lions opened the third with a 9-0 run courtesy of three three-pointers to add to its lead.
The Profs return home tomorrow night to square off with Penn State-Berks in a 6:30 p.m. tip from Esbjornson Gymnasium.
