Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Edged by Marymount, 89-88, on Three-Pointer at :02

ARLINGTON, VA – A three-pointer with :02 left by Marcus Stubbs gave Marymount an 89-88 win over Rowan in non-conference men's basketball action. The loss ruined a career-high 33-point effort by the Profs' Ja'Zere Noel and a late-game rally by his team.

Dickerson gave the Profs an 87-86 lead on a layup at :25 and after Marymount turned it over, Noel hit one of two free throws to give Rowan an 88-87 cushion. The Saints inbounded at :07 and Stubbs was able to sink the gamewinner.

Noel shot 11-for-16 from the field and connected on three three-pointers to lead the Profs. Dickerson added 16 points on 5-for-7 shooting, with Marcellus Ross adding 11 points and D'Andre Vilmar recording a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The teams went back-and-forth in the second half, with seven ties and eight lead changes. Marymount took a six-point lead, 83-77, at 3:04 on a three-pointer by Stubbs, but Rowan went on a 10-3 run, with five from Dickerson, to take the 87-83 lead. The home team got another three from Rashawn Cook to pull within 87-86, and then Noel hit a free throw at :10 which appeared to be all that the Profs needed.

Marymount (2-0) led by as much as eight in the first half and went into the break holding a 36-32 lead.

Rowan (0-2) shot 52.9 percent from the field in the second half, but Marymount made eight three-pointers to aid the win.

The Profs will head to Wesleyan on Saturday, November 19 for another non-conference matchup before opening NJAC play on November 22 at Stockton.
