Volleyball Picks Up Two Victories in Final Day at DeSales Quad

CENTER VALLEY, PA -- Rowan won its final two matches at the DeSales Quad match to go 2-1 over the weekend. The Profs fell in five sets to Drew on Friday evening (21-25, 25-22, 14-25, 25-20, 15-9), but rallied to down Hamilton (25-15, 25-17, 25-12) and the host Bulldogs (25-22, 25-21, 25-23) in a pair of 3-0 victories on Saturday.

In Friday's match against Drew, Natalie Ogden, Isabel Kirchner and Courtney Rhoden all reached double-digit kills but it was the Rangers pulling out a five-set win. Ogden totaled 14 kills to lead the Profs while Kirchner and Rhoden added 10 apiece. The two teams were nearly statistically identical as Rowan led in kills (53-52), aces (9-7), and assists (52-50). A wild match that saw 46 ties and 20 lead changes throughout and had each team using late rallies to win its respective sets.

Saturday's first match with Hamilton, Ogden continued the hot hand, putting down a match-high 14 kills. Sydni Greenwood kicked in a career-high 11 kills as the squad hit .323 for the match. Against the host DeSales, Rowan battled through three sets with the Bulldogs, facing 27 ties and 11 lead changes. Neither team led by more than four points until the third set as the Profs stormed back from a 20-14 deficit to win 25-23 and lock up the win.

Rowan returns home to face off with Kean on Senior Night here at Esbjornson Gymnasium. With a win, the Profs can lock up the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
