GLASSBORO, NJ – #17 Rowan opened the season on Saturday at the Tony Lisa Natatorium but fell to visiting #9 NYU, 148-114.
For the Profs,
Joe Rucci won two events and added a third-place finish. The senior took first in the 100 butterfly (51.49) and the 200 butterfly (1:51.89) while placing third in the 200 IM (1:56.88). Freshman
Jimmy Kundrats also placed first in two events in his Rowan debut. Kundrats was first in the 100 breaststroke (58.30) and in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.95).
Tobias Cahnbley added a first-place result in the 200 backstroke (1:52.22) and a third in the 1000 free (9:55.15).
Jack Watson was in four events, but was first in the 100 backstroke (51.62).
Kevin Yanagisawa added a pair of second place finishes, clocking in at 52.59 in the 100 butterfly and 1:54.93 in the 200 butterfly.
For NYU, Connor Vincent and Nathaniel Min-kye Yeoh won two events each with teammate Jaeden Yburan adding a first-place and a pair of runner-ups.
The squad returns to action on Saturday, November 5th with an NJAC matchup with Montclair State here at home beginning at noon.
