Double-Doubles by Seager and Azemi Power Men's Basketball Over Kean, 96-78

UNION, NJ – Andrew Seager and Arian Azemi scored 16 points apiece to lead a balanced effort as Rowan defeated Kean, 96-78, in an NJAC men's basketball matchup. The win is the Profs' third in the row as they improve to 15-3 on the year, and 8-3 in the conference.
 
Seager, who shot 6-for-15 from the field, and Azemi both recorded double-doubles with Seager grabbing 10 and Azemi pulling down 11. Marcellus Ross scored 13 points for the Profs as did Hafeez Melvin, who connected on 13-for-14 from the foul line.  
 
Rowan led from the start, using an 11-0 run early in the first half to open up a 21-6 lead and never looked back. Kean (10-5; 3-3) pulled within nine, 29-20, at 10:39, but the Profs responded by outscoring the Cougars, 20-4, to take a 49-24 lead with 4:32 to play. That spurt featured six points from Stretch Hawkins, five by Azemi and five straight points from Travis Holland.
 
Kean outscored the Profs, 10-2, in the final minutes of the half to cut its deficit to 51-34 by halftime.
 
At the opening of the second half, Rowan stretched its lead to 20 points, 54-34, and maintained that margin through most of the game. The Profs took their biggest lead as they used a 6-0 run, with four points from Connor Dickerson, to go up, 82-57, with 7:07 to play.
 
The Profs return to action on Wednesday, January 26, when they travel to Stockton for an 8 p.m. contest.
