GETTYSBURG, PA – The Rowan women's volleyball team split their matches on the second day of the Battlefield Classic, defeating Gallaudet, 3-1, and dropping a 3-2 decision to the host team Gettysburg.
Defensive specialist
Simone Sparano was named to the All-Tournament Team as she had a season-high 31 digs in the Gallaudet and Messiah matches.
In the win over Gallaudet, the Profs (2-2) saw
Brianna Newson register a team-high 16 kills and
Isabel Kirchner add 15. Setter
Brooke Adams handed out 50 assists in the win, to go along with 13 digs, with
Natalie Ogden also picking up 13 digs.
Ogden had a match-high 25 kills in the five-set loss to Gettysburg. The Profs won the first and fourth sets, but saw the home team score a 16-14 in the final set. Newson posted 22 kills and Adams had 62 assists.
The Profs open the home season next weekend, hosting the Rowan Quad, taking on Morrisville State on Friday.
