1EWING, N.J. -- Rowan suffered its first conference defeat at the hands of The College of New Jersey on Tuesday night as the Lions posted a 3-1 decision.

Bristol Pizzuto labored through 32 shots from the home team to rack up a career-high 15 saves, including 10 in the second stanza.
After a scoreless first half, the top-ranked Lions struck early in the second on a score from Emma Pascarella just 1:19 into the period. The Profs weathered 20 second-half shots from TCNJ and would come through in the 71st minute on a goal from
Aidan Sheehan, her team-leading seventh on the year, off an assist from rookie
Samantha Gurcsik. It was the first goal scored on TCNJ this season.
Pascarella helped put the Lions ahead less than a minute later as she set up Nikki Butler for a tally and a goal from Ivonne Vazquez in the 74th minute put the Profs in a two-goal deficit the team could not climb out from.
Rowan returns to action on Saturday as they travel to New Jersey City in an NJAC match beginning at 1 p.m.
