GLASSBORO, N.J. -- Rowan kicked off New Jersey Athletic Conference play with a 2-0 shutout over Ramapo Saturday evening.
Sarah Bergan had a goal and an assist while
Nina Carlson also tallied as the Profs captured their fourth win in a row. Offensively, Rowan fired off 31 shots with 12 coming from Carlson in the victory.
Goalie
Bristol Pizzuto played all 90 minutes with one save to earn her third-straight shutout in net.
Bergan got the Profs on the board with 7:51 left before the half as she took a nice feed in the box off the foot of
Kalin Priest for her first collegiate tally. Bergan beat Ramapo goalie Makenna Tahbaz for a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Bergan threaded a nice pass through traffic to Carlson where she also put home her first goal of the season.
Rowan kept Tahbaz on her toes, as the keeper made 14 saves on the night.
The Profs hit the road for their next four contests with the first coming a week from tonight as they head up to Rutgers-Newark for a NJAC showdown.
