Arian Azemi scored 32 points and
Marcellus Ross added 25 as the Rowan men's basketball team picked up a 110-91 win over John Carroll in the first round of the Doc Greene Tournament at Juniata. The Profs will now face the winner of the Juniata-Bryn Athyn contest in the championship game on Thursday at 4 p.m.

It was the sixth consecutive win for Rowan, upping the Profs' record to 10-1.

Azemi made 12-of-24 from the field and hit three three-pointers while Ross connected on 8-of-12 of his shots and was 5-of-10 from three-point range, scoring all of his points in the first half before leaving with an injury.

Rowan broke the game open early, turning a 13-13 tie into a 31-16 lead in the first eight minutes. Although John Carroll came within 10 points later in the half, the Profs would take their biggest lead of the half, 63-44, into intermission after four straight points from Wright.

The Profs kept it going in the second half and built up an 89-60 lead with 11:11 to play after one of Azemi's three-pointers.

John Carroll whittled away at the deficit and pulled within 95-85 with under four minutes to play, but Rowan put it out of reach after nine consecutive points by Azemi.

After making just 4-of-18 three-pointers in the first half, the Profs heated up in the second and hit 54 percent (6-of-11) of their long-range shots in the second.
