GLASSBORO, NJ -- The Rowan Volleyball Team takes on Springfield College tonight at 5:30 p.m. on the campus of Johns Hopkins in a first-round matchup in the 2021 NCAA Division III Tournament. This will be second all-time meeting between the two schools.

The winner of Friday's contest will move on to play either the 2019 National Champion Johns Hopkins (29-0) or Cabrini (14-17) on Saturday in second-round action. The remainder of the regional is as follows: Tufts (18-5) will play Eastern Connecticut (24-5) and SUNY Cortland (26-3) will face Merchant Marine (22-3). Those winner will meet the following day with Saturday's victors playing on Sunday with a trip to the national quarterfinals next weekend at stake.
The Profs, who captured the NJAC's automatic bid with their exciting 3-2 win over Montclair State in the final, enter the tournament with a 27-5 record and an eight-game win streak. It will be the fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2004. Rowan is led by four players who captured all-region and all-conference honors in

Deana Jespersen has also been recognized, winning the NJAC Coach of the Year and the AVCA Region 4 Coach of the Year.
The Pride will head to Baltimore as an at-large selection with a 22-7 record. Springfield fell to MIT in the championship of the New England Men's and Women's Athletic Conference. It will be the ninth time in the last 12 seasons the Pride has made the tournament with appearances in the NCAA Elite Eight in 2011, the NCAA Regional Semifinals in 2012 and 2013, the NCAA Regional Quarterfinals in 2014, the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2015 and 2016, and most recently a second round appearance in 2018.
