GLASSBORO, NJ – Washington College (MD) jumped out to the early lead en route to posting a 13-3 win over Rowan (2-3) in women's lacrosse today, in the Profs' home opener today at Coach Richard Wackar Stadium.
Washington (2-3) scored the first six goals of the game, with two from Colleen Keefe, and held a 6-0 lead 13:54 of the first half.
Rowan's
Abby Daigle netted the Profs' first of the game at 12:37 for her sixth goal of the year, with the assist from
Julianna Corson. Washington added two more before halftime, with another from Keefe, to take an 8-1 lead at halftime.
The visitors scored four straight to start the second half before Rowan's
Jamie Cutrera took a pass from
Jenna Scarpa to net her second goal of the year at 13:20.
Caroline Bailey closed out the scoring for Washington College at 6:57 while freshman
Michaela Donnelly tallied her first career goal for Rowan with 3:50 remaining in the game.
The Profs will remain at home for two more games, taking on Roanoke on Saturday, March 14 at noon, and Clarkson on Tuesday, March 17 at 11 a.m.
