This installment of "Know Your Profs" features track & field athlete Makayla Taylor.  Last year, she was the indoor conference champion in the weight throw.  Taylor's winning toss was 53' 3.5" (16.24 m), which was a conference and school record and a personal record.  The junior was selected to the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association All-Atlantic Region Team.
 
What was the biggest factor that led you to choose Rowan?
Biggest factor that led me to Rowan was the size of the school and the distance from home. 
 
What is your most memorable moment in sports, whether at Rowan or before? 
Most memorable moment for me would have to be indoor NJACs. I came in first place for the weight throw which was the NJAC meet record, my own personal record and the school record.
 
If you could play any other sport in college, what would it be and why? 
If I could play any other sport it would be basketball because just like track I played basketball from elementary school to high school and it's something I enjoyed doing.
 
Who was your biggest role model growing up? 
My biggest role models would be my mom. She is the strongest woman I know and always pushed me to keep going and do my best. (honorable mentions: my aunt, sister and grandma :D ). 
 
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
If I could travel anywhere it would be to any island because I have never been to one. 
 
What's your choice – Netflix, YouTube, Cable TV? Favorite show? 
I like to watch American Horror Story on Netflix or Hulu. It is so creepy but I'm obsessed with it.
 
Who is your favorite professional athlete or team? 
My favorite professional athlete is the Shot Diva, Michelle Carter. She is all about hard work and being confident in everything you do.
 
Who is your favorite follow on social media? 
My favorite person to follow on any social media platform is Ricky Thompson. He is hilarious and a fashion icon.
 
Which do you prefer – online classes or in person? 
I prefer having in person classes because I find it easier to learn that way and I like being around people.
 
What is your major at Rowan and what are your career aspirations? 
My major is Sociology and I'm not sure what I want to do yet.
 
What's the best thing about being a Prof? 
The best thing about being a Prof is that you're always surrounded by positive vibes no matter what.
