PROVIDENCE, NJ – The Rowan University men's swim team competed against Johns Hopkins University, Swarthmore College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). The meet was held at the Berkeley Aquatic Club.
The Profs (5-2) won against WPI, 143-116 and Swarthmore, 155-101. They lost to Johns Hopkins, 184-75.
Gillooly captured first place in the 50 (20.77) and 100 (46.32) freestyles.

Tyler McDonald and Gillooly were on the second place (1:25.61) 200 freestyle relay. The 200 medley relay of Gillooly,
Matt Grubb, Kayati and Regan came in fourth with a time of 1:34.72.
Grubb touched second (2:12.66) in the 200 breaststroke and he was third (58.83) in the 100 breaststroke. Kayati swam 51.76 for fourth place in the 100 butterfly.
Joe Rucci came in fourth (16:41.35) in the 1650 freestyle. In the 100 backstroke,
Kyle Printon and
Christian Termine were fourth (54.09) and fifth (55.20) respectively.
Jack Freeman had a fifth place (1:56.24) in the 200 butterfly followed by
Kevin Yanagisawa, sixth (1:56.59). Freeman came in sixth (1:59.17) in the 200 individual medley. Yanagisawa took ninth (2:01.23) in the 200 individual medley and 10
th (4:51.11) in the 500 freestyle.
McDonald finished fifth (1:44.53) in the 200 freestyle followed by
Alex Sukach, seventh (1:45.49) and Kayati, 11
th (1:46.67). In the 500 freestyle, McDonald came in seventh (4:48.21) and
Matt Maretic was eighth (4:49.22). Sukach was fourth (1:59.42) in the 200 backstroke.
Matt DeGennaro had a sixth place (22.07) in the 50 free and Regan was seventh (22.09). Maretic took sixth (48.16) in the 100 freestyle and Regan followed seventh (48.31).
James Yates had a seventh place (2:02.49) in the 200 backstroke and DeGennaro was ninth (2:03.15).
In the 100 breaststroke,
Greg Cann came in seventh (1:01.05) while
Noah Shepard was eighth (1:01.42). Shepard finished seventh (2:16.46) in the 200 breaststroke and Cann was 10
th (2:20.79).
Rocco Evangelista took ninth (2:00.83) in the 200 butterfly.
Kyle Printon had a 10
th place (54.41) in the 100 butterfly.
Next, Rowan travels to The College of New Jersey on Saturday, Feb. 25 for its last conference meet of the season at 2 p.m.
