Box Score 1 GLASSBORO, NJ - The Rowan University women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday at the Rowan Prof Invitational at Esby Gym, giving the squad three wins in four matches. Seniors
Kailey Gallagher (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) and
Megan Jacobi (Brick, NJ/Nazareth Area).were each named to the All-Tournament Team for their performances.
The Profs went 3-1 in the tournament to move their overall record to 4-3 on the season.
On Saturday, Rowan lost to Misericordia in the opener, 3-1, and then bounced back to defeat Penn State Berks, 3-0.
Misericordia won a 26-24 battle in the first set, but the Profs took the second, 25-11. The visitors closed out the victory with scores of 25-15 and 25-22 in the final two sets.
Jacobi had 11 kills against Misericordia while
Simone Sparano (fr., Phoenixville, PA/Pope John Paul II) recorded 21 digs.
Tori Mock (jr., Chadds Ford, PA/Archmere Academy) handed out 23 assists.
Rowan rebounded in the second match, sweeping Penn State Berks, 25-23, 25-22, 25-16. Gallagher topped the team with 19 kills while classmate Jacobi added 14 in the sweep. Mock posted 25 assists and
Alaina Santacroce (so., Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) had 12 assists. Sparano had 17 digs,
Natalie Ogden (so., Downingtown, PA/Bishop Shanahan) added 15, and
Jackie Camponelli (fr., Lincoln University, PA/Padua Academy) posted 14 digs.
The Profs return to action next Friday and Saturday, September 13 and 14, when they travel to the Swarthmore College Quad.
