Field Hockey Scores Three Goals In Fourth Quarter For 6-2 Win At Eastern

ST. DAVIDS, PA – The Rowan University field hockey team scored three goals in the fourth quarter for a 6-2 win at Eastern University.  
 
Forward Krystyna Hovell (so. Gibbsboro, NJ/Eastern Reg.) finished the game with three goals. Midfielder/back Rachel Stone (fr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) added one goal and an assist.  Midfielder/forward Liz Fox (so. Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) and forward Alyssa Magliaro (fr. Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) each contributed with one goal.  
 
Forward Bridget Boyle (sr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee), midfielder Kristiina Castagnola (so. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) and back Casey Wagner (sr. Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.) all registered one assist.  Goalie Morgan Novak (sr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) stopped nine shots, including a penalty stroke in the third period.  Rowan is 2-0 on the season while Eastern has a 2-1 record. 
 
The Profs headed into the fourth quarter with a 3-2 lead.  Magliaro hit the cage at 45:12 with an assist from Stone.  Hovell put the game out of reach with goals at 57:02 and 58:41.  Castagnola had an assist on the sixth tally.
    
For the Eagles, forwards Hailey Ferry (fr. Clarksboro, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) and Ali Balmer (sr. Perkasie, PA/Christopher Dock) scored one goal apiece. Midfielder Joelle Wash (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) had two assists.  Goalie Kylie Troyer (fr. Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Mennonite) made eight saves.
 
The Eagles led 1-0 (4:19) after the first quarter with a goal by Ferry.  Rowan came back in the second stanza for a 2-1 advantage at the intermission. Hovell knocked in a pass from Boyle at 21:37 to tie the score.  Fox followed with an unassisted goal just under eight minutes later.  In the third, Balmer made it 2-2 at 36:24 and Wash had her second assist.  Stone gave the Profs the lead (41:17) after a feed from Wagner.
