LYNCHBURG, VA – The second ranked Rowan University field hockey team suffered a 4-3 loss against the University of Lynchburg. The game was played at Liberty University.
The Hornets led 2-0 after goals by forward Jackie Lerro at 9:36 and 20:27. Midfielder
Kristiina Castagnola cut the deficit to one. She hit the cage (25:31) after a pass from back
Casey Wagner.
Lerro made the score 3-1 with a penalty stroke in the third quarter . Forward
Bridget Guinan had a shot into the left side of the net for the Profs' second goal (41:46) after a penalty corner. In the fourth, midfielder Emily Dudley gave Lynchburg a 4-2 advantage at 52:59. Guinan produced a second tally with 48 seconds remaining. She has six goals and five assists this year.

Morgan Novak made nine saves. It was Rowan's first loss (7-1) on the season. Lynchburg is 6-3 overall.
