Box Score CLERMONT, FL – The Wesleyan University softball team won 8-2 against Rowan University at the Spring Games on Saturday. The game was called after five innings due to rain and the Profs' contest against Illinois Wesleyan University was canceled.
Right-hander Brenna Monroe (so. Southwick, MA/Westminster School) was the winning pitcher in relief. She (2-0) threw one inning and only gave up one hit. Righty

First baseman Kendall Carr (sr. York, ME/York) led the Cardinals with two hits, a triple, three RBIs and one run. Left fielder Marina Williams (so. San Dimas, CA/Claremont), designated player Sophia Sciarappa (fr. Charlton, MA/Shepard Hill Reg.), shortstop Danielle Rinaldi (so. Ewing, NJ/Ewing) and Monroe all had one hit and one RBI.

Wesleyan (3-2) trailed 2-1 going into the bottom of the fifth inning and scored seven runs. Monroe, Sciarappa and Rinaldi each had a RBI single. Catcher Courtney Collins-Pisano (fr. Westwood, MA/Nobles & Greenough) walked with the bases loaded. Carr knocked in three runs with a triple to right center.
The Profs' two runs were in the first inning. DeDomenico crossed the plate on a bases loaded walk by Zane. Guarino's sacrifice fly scored Gerard. Wesleyan got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third. Williams singled down the left field line and right fielder Alexis Campbell (fr. South Easton, MA/Oliver Ames) came home.
Rowan (4-4) is slated to play Linfield College on Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. and Mount Saint Mary College (NY) at 4:30 p.m.
