Women's Basketball Wins 102-65 In Season Opener Against Delaware Valley

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's basketball team had four players that scored in double figures in a 102-65 win against Delaware Valley University.  It was the Profs' season opener. 
 
The last time Rowan hit the 100 point mark was in the 2016-17 season with a 107-89 victory over Lehman College.  Guard Alexis Kriley led the way with 21 points and seven assists.  She was eight for 11 from the floor with three three-pointers and two for three from the line.  Guards Nicole Mallard and Savanna Holt each contributed with 17 points while guard Kennedy Brown added 15.  Center Ayanna Johnson grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds.  
 
For the Aggies (0-2), guard Shayne Glenn recorded a double-double with 27 points and 11 boards. Guard Lauren Moretti collected14 points, six rebounds and five assists.  Forward Emily Kutskel had eight rebounds.  
 
The Profs were ahead 30-14 after the first quarter. Rowan had a 15-4 advantage in the first six minutes.  Mallard produced six points in the run.  Glenn made a foul shot (2:53) and Delaware Valley trailed by eight (20-12).  Kriley scored seven points and Holt hit a three to close out the period with a 10-2 surge.  Holt's three-pointer in the second put the Profs up by 16 points (44-28) with 4:17 on the clock.  They led by 18 points (53-35) at the break.  
 
In the third quarter, Rowan was on top 59-36 at 7:15.  The Profs then went on an 11-2 run, which made the score 70-38 with 4:03 remaining. Kennedy made eight of the 11 points. Guard Paige Caldwell's three gave Rowan a 34 point lead (81-47) at the end of the third.  The Profs had their biggest lead of 37 points three times in the final period and at the end of the game.
