GLASSBORO, NJ – The #4 Rowan University field hockey team defeated Stockton University, 8-2 on Molly's Detour Night.
The Profs showed their support for their teammate
Molly Gorczyca who was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia. It is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. The team and fans wore orange which is the color that represents Leukemia Awareness.

Bridget Guinan led the way with three goals and one assist. Midfielder
Kristiina Castagnola totaled two goals and three assists. Forward
Krystyna Hovell scored two goals and midfielder
Rachel Stone added a goal. Back
Casey Wagner chipped in with an assist. Goalies
Morgan Novak and
Aida Ingram made five and three saves respectively.
Rowan has a 9-1 record with a 2-0 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Stockton is 10-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference. For the Ospreys, forward Gianna Morganti and back Casey Cordonna scored one goal apiece. Goalie Emily Gillian had one save and goalie Niya Calloway turned away nine shots.
Hovell, Guinan and Stone all hit the cage in the first quarter. Morganti scored in the second on a penalty stroke. Castagnola made the score 4-1 at the half. In the third period, Guinan produced two goals and Hovell had one. Castagnola scored for an 8-1 advantage in the final quarter and Cordonna had Stockton's second tally.
