GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's swimming and diving team lost its season opener against New York University, 180-120.
The Profs won the 200 medley (1:34.13) and 400 freestyle (3:09.87) relays. The medley relay included
Kevin Gillooly,
Matt Grubb,
Jake Kayati and
Dylan Regan. Kayati, Regan,
Dominick Sheppard and Gillooly made up the freestyle relay.
Gillooly took first place in the 100 (51.72) and 200 (1:54.40) backstrokes. Regan claimed first in the 50 (21.17) and 100 (47.94) freestyles.
Chad Shire was the winner in the one and three-meter diving. He totaled 335.55 points in the one-meter and 351.15 points in the three-meter.
Grubb finished second (59.36) in the 100 breaststroke and Kayati was second (52.00) in the 100 butterfly. Kayati also had a fourth place (1:46.27) in the 200 free.
Kevin Yanagisawa took second (1:55.60) in the 200 butterfly. He finished fourth in the 500 (4:52.47) and the 1000 (10:02.52) freestyles.
Kyle Printon came in third (54.41) in the 100 backstroke.
Tyler McDonald had a third place (1:46.00) in the 200 freestyle.
Aaron Schiff finished fourth (1:01.61) in the 100 breaststroke while
Greg Cann was fourth (2:16.60) in the 200 breaststroke.
Matt DeGennaro took fourth (22.26) in the 50 free and Sheppard was fourth (48.41) in the 100 freestyle.
Jack Freeman had a fourth place (2:02.14) in the 200 individual medley.
