GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team has a 10-0 record after an 8-1 win against William Paterson University on Saturday.
It was the first conference game for both teams. The Pioneers drop to 4-6 on the season.

Rachel Galante (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Collingswood) led the Profs with two goals and one assist. Forward
Bridget Guinan (fr. Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) and midfielder
Bridget Boyle (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) each contributed with two goals. Midfielder
Kristiina Castagnola (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) chipped in with one goal and one assist. Forward
Krystyna Hovell (fr. Gibbsboro, NJ/Eastern Reg.) added one goal.
William Paterson's goal came on a penalty stroke by midfielder Kristin Freas-Papa (so. Westville, NJ/Gateway Reg.). For the Pioneers, goalie Mallory Rickerhauser (sr. Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) made 12 saves and they had four defender stops.
Rowan was ahead 5-0 after the first half. Guinan started the scoring at 16:07 with a short pass from Castagnola. Boyle and Galante produced back-to-back unassisted goals (20:40, 30:40). Castagnola hit the cage (31:13) with an assist from Galante who then posted her second tally (33:37).
In the second stanza, Hovell knocked in a rebound (39:40) and Guinan had her second score (41:15). Bowe spoiled the shutout with the penalty stroke (43:40). Boyle ended the scoring with an unassisted goal at 53:46.
Rowan plays at conference opponent Stockton University on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
