READING, PA – The Rowan University field hockey team defeated Alvernia University, 4-0 on Wednesday.
The Profs are undefeated with a 9-0 record and they are ranked ninth in the nation. The Golden Wolves drop to 4-5 on the season.
Forward
Bridget Guinan (fr. Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) scored the first goal at 23:07. She hit the lower left corner of the cage with an assist from midfielder
Molly Gorczyca (so. Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown). Midfielder
Liz Fox (fr. Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) put the Profs ahead 2-0 at 29:16. Back
Casey Wagner (jr. Erial, NJ/Timber Creek Reg.) had the assist. It was Guinan's seventh goal on the season and the second for Fox.
In the second half, forward
Krystyna Hovell (fr. Gibbsboro, NJ/Eastern Reg.) produced the third goal (43:08) with help from Guinan. Hovell now has four goals in her rookie year. Back
