Box Score 2 GALLOWAY, NJ – The Rowan University softball team split a doubleheader at Stockton University on Friday. The Ospreys won the first game, 3-1 and the Profs came back for a 1-0 shutout in the second.
Hannah Bibeault (sr. Hopatcong, NJ/Hopatcong) was the winning pitcher in the opener. She (8-1) threw a complete game, scattered six hits and allowed one unearned run. Right-hander
Jesse DeDomenico (so. East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) suffered the loss (10-2).
Third baseman Casey Schieda (jr. Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.) led the way with a double, one RBI and one run. First baseman Alexandra Cosenzo (so. East Hanover, NJ/Hanover Park) contributed with one hit and one RBI. Pinch hitter Megan Katzmar (so. Cinnaminson, NJ/Holy Cross) drove in one run. Center fielder Carli Shaw (jr. Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown) scored one run and had one hit.

Carly Anderson (jr. Nutley, NJ/Nutley) was two for three at the plate for Rowan. Designated player

Stockton scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth and one in the sixth. The Profs' run came in the seventh inning. Duffy pinch hit for center fielder
Kristina Mueller (jr. Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) and had a single through the right side. Mueller re-entered and advanced to second on a ground out. She went to third on Anderson's base hit through the left side and crossed the plate on an error.
In the second contest, Rowan scored the winning run in the sixth inning. With one out, Anderson singled to right field and she advanced to second on DeDomenico's base hit to left field. Third baseman
Cassandra Gerard (jr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) drove in Anderson with a single.
The Profs, ranked 18
th, are 16-5-1 overall while the Ospreys have a 13-9 record. Both teams are 2-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
Righty
Lauren Shannon (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) earned the win on the mound. She (4-1) only gave up three hits and had four strikeouts. It was her first shutout on the season. Victoria Torp (sr. West Milford, NJ/West Milford) was the losing pitcher (1-3).
Anderson ended the game with two hits (three at bats) and one run. Right fielder
Morgan Smith (sr. Millsboro, DE/Sussex Central) added one hit. Catcher Alexa Massa (sr. Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) had two hits in three at bats for the Ospreys.
Rowan was scheduled to play Kean University at home on Saturday, April 7 but the doubleheader has been postponed due to the weather forecast. A new date has not been determined.
