BIRMINGHAM, AL – Rowan University's
Aspen McMillan earned All-America with a second place finish in the 60 meter hurdles at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. The two-day national championships were held at the Birmingham Crossplex.
McMillan (jr. South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick) came in second with a school record of 8.72. She improved on her previous mark (8.74) from the Bomber Invitational this season. McMillan was only one one-hundredth of a second behind the national champion Nicole Bartoletta from Geneva College who finished in 8.71.
In the prelims on Friday, McMillan won heat two with a time of 8.80. Her time was the second best amid the eight finalists. McMillan had the second fastest time (8.74) among the 17 national qualifiers This year, McMillan was the 60 meter hurdles champion at the New Jersey Athletic Conference and All-Atlantic Regional Championships.
Angel Rowe (so. Wood-Ridge, NJ/Passaic County Tech) finished 12
th in the triple jump. She had a leap of 37' 9.25" (11.51 m). Rowe qualified for nationals with 38' 7.75 (11.78 m), which is the Rowan record. This was her second straight appearance at the national indoor championships.
