Box Score 2 CARY, NC – The Rowan University softball team went 1-1 on the second day at the Triangle College on Saturday. Randolph-Macon College won the first game, 3-0 and the Profs defeated Randolph College, 8-3 in the second.
The win versus Randolph marked head coach
Kim Wilson's 700
th victory at the University. In 22 seasons, she has compiled a coaching record of 700-237. Her overall record stands at 764-294 in 28 campaigns.
Right-hander
Lauren Shannon (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) had the win on the mound against Randolph. She (2-0) pitched five innings and only allowed two hits. Righty Abbi Pannill (so. Prince George, VA/Prince George) had the loss. In two innings, she (0-1) gave up six earned runs and three hits.
Shortstop
Carly Anderson (jr. Nutley, NJ/Nutley) totaled two hits (two at bats), three RBIs, a home run and two runs scored. Center fielder
Kristina Mueller (jr. Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) was two for two at the plate with two runs and two stolen bases. Catcher

The Profs jumped out to a 6-0 lead after scoring three runs in the first and second innings. In the first, Paiotti walked with the bases loaded and Mueller came home. Anderson crossed the plate when Makos had a bases loaded walk. Right fielder
Morgan Smith (sr. Millsboro, DE/Sussex Central) scored a wild pitch. Lombardo led off the second inning with a walk and later stole home. Anderson recorded a two-run homer to left center field. It was her second on the season.
Decker had a RBI ground out in the third for a 7-0 lead. Randolph got on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth inning and Rowan had one run in the bottom half. Anderson produced a sacrifice fly, scoring Sharma. The Wildcats' final run came in the top of the sixth inning.
Randolph-Macon held Rowan to four hits in the first game. Right-hander Candace Whittemore (jr. Montpelier, VA/Lord Botetourt) went the distance for the shutout. She (1-0) had three walks and four strikeouts. Pitcher
Jesse DeDomenico (so. East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) suffered the loss. She (1-1) threw 4.2 innings and gave up two hits and two earned runs. Anderson contributed with two hits in four at bats. Paiotti and Makos each had one hit.
Next week, Rowan (3-1) travels to Haverford College on Saturday, March 3 for a noon doubleheader.
