RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini University women's volleyball team won 3-0 over Rowan University on Saturday afternoon.
The set scores were 25-9, 25-23 and 25-19. The Cavaliers are 21-9 overall while the Profs are 17-15 on the season.
Rowan is the second seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. The Profs receive a bye in the first round and will host a semifinal game on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. They will face the winner of the first round match between #3 Kean University and #6 William Paterson University.
For Cabrini, outside hitter Steph Judkins (so. Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) recorded a game-high 17 kills and had a .429 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Katrina Shelly (jr. Mountville, PA/Hempfield) contributed with nine kills. Opposite/defensive specialist Emily Shannon (sr. Bridgeport, PA/Upper Merion) totaled 20 assists and setter Amelia Ballard (fr. Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) added 14.
Libero Ashley Shannon (sr. Bridgeport, PA/Upper Merion) collected 15 digs while Emily Shannon and defensive specialist/libero Gina Custer (fr. King of Prussia, PA/Archbishop Carroll) had 12 and 10 respectively.

Megan Jacobi (jr. Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area) had eight kills for Rowan. Setter
Alaina Santacroce (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) compiled 11 assists and setter
Tori Mock (so. Chadds Ford, PA/Archmere Academy (DE)) followed with 10. Outside hitter
Erin Keegan (sr. Fairfield, NJ/West Essex Reg.) had 10 digs.
In the first set, Cabrini led 5-1 after three straight kills. Middle hitter/opposite Kassie Oxford (sr. Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) contributed with two and Shelly had one. Rowan trailed by two (6-4) with a kill by opposite
Kailey Gallagher (jr. Bayonne, N/Bayonne). The Cavaliers followed with six straight points for a 12-4 advantage. They had another run of 10 unanswered points, which put the set out of reach (24-8). Cabrini won 25-9 on a Rowan error.
The Cavaliers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second set. They had another 4-0 run and was ahead by six points (8-2). Rowan pulled within five points (20-15) after a kill by opposite
Alexa Gasser (so. Broomall, PA/Villa Maria Academy) and two Cabrini errors. Keegan contributed with a kill, middle hitter
Jamie Shirtz (sr. Mendham, NJ/West Morris Mendham) produced a service ace and the Cavaliers had an error, which brought the Profs within one (24-23). Cabrini took the set on a Rowan serving error.
Rowan was ahead 6-4 in the third set after three straight points. Gallagher had a kill and Santacroce posted two aces. Cabrini scored five straight and took the lead 9-6. Several times the Profs came within two points then they trailed by one (19-18) with Keegan's service ace.
The Cavaliers scored three points that made the score 22-18. The Profs' had a point because of an error (22-19) then Cabrini won the match with three points to take the third set, 25-19.
