GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team shut out FDU-Florham, 3-0 on Friday. It was the Profs' Senior Day.
All three goals came in the second half. Forward
Rachel Galante (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Collingswood) started the scoring at 47:29. She had a shot just inside the circle and hit the right side of the cage. Galante had the assist on the second tally just under 10 minutes later. She took a shot from the top of circle that was tipped in by midfielder
Kristiina Castagnola (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.). Midfielder
Liz Fox (fr. Green Lake, PA/Upper Perkiomen) scored with a backhand (65:01) after dribbling around a defender.
The Profs totaled 23 shots while the Devils had two. Goalie
Morgan Novak (jr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) made two saves for her fourth shutout. For FDU, goalie Samantha Rubin (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) stopped nine shots.
After the game, the field hockey team honored its seven senior players – forward

Rowan is the top seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship Tournament and will host a semifinal game on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.
