EWING, NJ – The College of New Jersey women's soccer team scored two goals in the second half for a 2-1 win over Rowan University on Wednesday night.
The Lions are 11-1-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). They play their last conference game on Thursday, Oct. 25 against New Jersey City University. The Profs have a 12-2-2 record and they finish 6-1-2 in the NJAC. Rowan is the second seed in the NJAC Championship Tournament and receives a first round bye. The Profs will host a semifinal game on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Forward/midfielder Nikki Butler (fr. Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) scored the game-winner at 87:50. She had a header after a cross from midfielder Arielle Curtis (sr. Hillborough , NJ/Hillsborough). Midfielder Joriam Rivera (jr. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.) produced the tying marker (68:15). She tapped in a long pass from back Jen McGrogan (jr. Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock).
