GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team defeated visiting Elizabethtown College, 5-1 on Wednesday night.

Kristiina Castagnola (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) each scored two goals. Midfielder
Molly Gorczyca (so. Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown) contributed with one goal and an assist. Back
Julie Johnson (sr. Mount Ephriam, NJ/Audubon) chipped in with an assist.
The Profs are undefeated with a 17-0 record and they are ranked third in Division III. The Blues Jays are 13-4 overall.
Back Maggie Fees (sr. Orrtanna, PA/Gettysburg) had Elizabethtown's goal. Goalie Margo Donlin (sr. Wilmington, DE/Concord) made seven saves for the Blue Jays. Goalie
Morgan Novak (jr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) turned away five shots for Rowan.
Hovell put the Profs on the scoreboard at 3:22 when she tipped in a pass from Gorczyca. She knocked in a loose ball (15:35) for the second tally. Gorczyca had an unassisted goal (27:08) for a 3-0 advantage at the break.
Castagnola connected with Johnson (48:30) for the fourth goal. Eight minutes later, Castagnola found the cage again. Fees was the spoiler with an unassisted goal at 58:18.
Rowan's last regular season game is on Friday, Oct. 26 against FDU-Florham at 6 p.m. Prior to the game, the field hockey team will honor its senior players.
