Field Hockey Shuts Out Ramapo, 7-0

GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University field hockey team shut out Ramapo College, 7-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday. It was the Profs' sixth shutout on the season.  
 
Forward Bridget Guinan (fr. Pottstown, NJ/Owen J. Roberts) led the way with three goals.  Midfielder Kristiina Castagnola (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.) contributed with one goal and one assist.  Midfielders Bridget Boyle (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and Liz Fox (fr. Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) and forward Myranda McCabe (fr. Bellmawr, NJ/Gloucester City) each added one goal.  
 
Back Julie Johnson (sr. Mount Ephraim, NJ/Audubon) chipped in with two assists while forwards Rachel Galante (sr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Collingswood) and Krystyna Hovell (fr. Gibbsboro, NJ/Eastern Reg.) had one apiece.  
 
The Profs are 14-0 overall and ranked fifth in the nation.  They have a 4-0 NJAC record. The Roadrunners are 4-9 on the season and 0-4 in the conference.
 
Goalies Morgan Novak (jr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) and Hailey Rando (fr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) shared the shutout.  Goalie Samantha Stolker (so. Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) totaled 19 stops and back Victoria Ewanis (so. East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) produced two defender saves.
 
The Profs were ahead 5-0 after the first half.  Castagnola knocked in a rebound (2:10) for the first goal after Stolker stopped a shot by Galante.  Guinan tipped in (13:25) Hovell's shot then Boyle deflected in (20:06) a hard pass by Galante.  Guinan's second tally was at 21:44 with an assist from Castagnola.  Fox scored at 22:55 on a feed from Johnson.  
 
In the final stanza, Guinan scored (36:54) after a short pass by Johnson. McCabe's goal was unassisted (46:46).
 
Rowan is home again on Tuesday, Oct. 16 against fourth ranked The College of New Jersey at 7 p.m.
