Box Score 2 GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's volleyball team went 1-1 on the final day of the Profs Invitational on Saturday.
The Profs bested Keystone College, 3-2 (25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12). Rowan trailed 12-11 in the final set before capitalizing on four straight Giants' errors off outside hitter/right side
Kristin Akin's (jr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) serve to win the match. The Profs later fell to Gettysburg College, 3-1 (25-18, 25-12, 19-25, 25-15). Rowan has a 3-5 record.

Taylor Modica (fr. Newark, DE/Appoquinimink) and opposite
Maura Francis (so. Philadelphia, PA/St. Basil Academy) totaled 12 and 10 kills respectively. Setter
Katelyn Paxson (so. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) tallied 23 assists and setter
Tori Mock (fr. Chadds Ford, PA/Archmere Academy (DE)) added 20. Defensive specialist/libero
Amy Staiber (so. Morton, PA/Ridley) had a team-high 18 digs. She was named to the All-Tournament Team. Middle hitter
Erin Keegan (jr. Fairfield, NJ/West Essex), Paxson and Akin produced 14, 11 and 10 digs respectively. Middle hitter
Lauren Horbacewicz (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) posted six blocks and Modica recorded five.
Keystone outside hitter Nicole Frascati (fr. Yonkers, NY/Yonkers) registered 16 kills and outside hitter Taylor Beatty (jr. Virginia Beach, VA/Ocean Lakes) followed with 13. Setter Malley Bowen (so. Oswego, NY/Tioga Central) amassed 52 assists while outside hitter Victoria Homfeld (jr. Smithtown, NY/Hauppage) chipped in with four service aces. Libero Pamela Heitman (jr. Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) led all players with 36 digs.
Gettysburg was led by outside hitter Allie Stranick (fr. Havertown, PA/Merion Mercy), who tallied 14 kills and 12 digs. Outside hitter/middle hitter Kasey Higgins (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) totaled 12 kills. Setter Stephanie Blair (sr. Chester, NJ/West Morris Mendham) amassed 42 assists and 12 digs. Defensive specialist Katherine Gilbert (sr. Baltimore, MD/Notre Dame Prep) registered 21 digs and defensive specialist Melissa Tringali (so. Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) added 11 digs.
Rowan middle hitter/opposite
Jamie Shirtz (jr. Mendham, NJ/West Morris Mendham) posted 10 kills. Paxson and Mock had 19 and 10 assists respectively. Paxson and Keegan produced 12 digs apiece.
The women's volleyball team begins conference play at home versus Rutgers-Newark on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.
