Box Score 2 HAVERFORD, PA – The Rowan University women's volleyball team suffered a pair of losses on the last day of the Haverford College Invitational on Sunday.
The Profs fell to John Carroll University, 3-1 (25-20, 25-23, 15-25, 26-24) and 16
th-ranked Eastern University, 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-23). Rowan is 0-4 on the young season while the Blue Streaks and Eagles are 1-3 and 3-1 respectively.
For John Carroll, outside hitter Sarah Calabrese (fr. Novato, CA/St. Vincent De Paul) registered 24 kills and 10 digs. Outside hitter Julianne McGervey (sr. Canton, OH/Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas) added 10 kills. Setter Shannon Atwell (fr. Bloomfield Hills, MI/Marian) compiled 38 assists. Defensive specialists Caitlin Cianciolo (jr. Twinsburg, OH/Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit), Kayla Musso (sr. University Heights, OH/Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown) and Becca Fortsch (jr. Aurora, IL/Waubonsie Valley) contributed with 25, 14 and 11 digs respectively.
Rowan outside hitter
Megan Jacobi (so. Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area) produced 13 kills and outside hitter
Taylor Modica (fr. Newark, DE/Appoquinimink) followed with 10. Setters
Katelyn Paxson (so. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) and
Tori Mock (fr. Chadds Ford, PA/Archmere Academy (DE)) tallied 30 and 12 assists respectively. Defensive specialist/libero
Amy Staiber (so. Morton, PA/Ridley) had 14 digs. Outside hitter/right side
Kristin Akin (jr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) totaled 13 digs and middle hitter
Erin Keegan (jr. Fairfield, NJ/West Essex) had 12. Middle hitter
Lauren Horbacewicz (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River E.) and Keegan added four blocks apiece.
Eastern outside hitter Caroline Shelby (fr. Lititz, PA/Manheim Twp.) produced 13 kills. Setters Morgan Kline (so. Millersville, MD/Severna Park) and Kylie McCusker (fr. Smyrna, DE/Smyrna) amassed 22 and 15 assists respectively. Defensive specialist Sydney MacDonald (fr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. DuPont) and outside hitter/defensive specialist Cecilia Bauer (so. Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) each tallied four service aces. Defensive specialist Miranda Kauffman (sr. Christiana, PA/Octorara) recorded 14 digs.
Modica and Horbacewicz had six kills apiece. Horbacewicz also had four blocks. Mock and Paxson totaled 10 and nine assists respectively. Paxson was chosen to the All-Tournament Team. Middle hitter/opposite
Gina Kisley (sr. Paramus, NJ/Paramus) chipped in with five digs.
