Box Score GALLOWAY, NJ – The Rowan University women's volleyball team had a 3-0 setback at Stockton University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Thursday night.
The set scores were 25-14, 25-20 and 25-22. The Profs have an 8-8 record with a 2-2 conference mark. The Ospreys are 9-6 overall and 2-2 in the NJAC.
Right side Stephanie Kovacs (sr. Allentown, PA/Central Catholic) led Stockton with 16 kills. Setters Emily Sullivan (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) and Alice Brandt (fr. Floral Park, NY/Floral Park) posted 21 and 11 assists respectively. Sullivan also recorded four service aces. Defensive specialist Natalie Miller (so. Pittsburgh, PA/Thomas Jefferson) registered eight digs.

Kailey Gallagher (so. Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) produced 11 kills and outside hitter
Megan Jacobi (so. Hazleton, PA/Hazleton Area) followed with 10. Setters
Katelyn Paxson (so. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) and
Tori Mock (fr. Chadds Ford, PA/Archmere Academy (DE)) amassed 20 and 15 assists respectively. Paxson added six digs. Outside hitter
Taylor Modica (fr. Newark, DE/Appoquinimink) chipped in with six kills and five digs.
The Profs trailed 11-10 in the opening set before the Ospreys took control with an 11-2 run. Kovacs had four kills in the surge. The two squads were even at 19 apiece in the second stanza prior to a 6-1 Stockton rally that ended the frame. In the final set, Rowan held a 19-15 advantage but the Ospreys came back with eight straight points for a 23-19 lead. The Profs closed the gap to two (24-22) but Kovacs ended the match with a kill.
Rowan heads to the Eastern University Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 30. The Profs battle the host Eagles at 10 a.m. and face Messiah College at noon.
