Box Score 2 KISSIMMEE, FL – The Rowan University softball team won two games at the Rebel Spring Games on Friday. The Profs defeated Lakeland University, 5-1 and Muskingum University, 3-2.

Jesse DeDomenico (fr. East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) drove in two runs with a double. Second baseman
Rachel Breuninger (so. Sparta, NJ/Lenape Valley Reg.) and third baseman
Cassandra Gerard (so. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) each contributed with two hits (three at bats). For Lakeland, first baseman Mikayla Hilton had two hits in two at bats, a double and one RBI.
DeDomenico pitched a complete game for her third win on the season. She (3-0) allowed one earned run on three hits. Right-hander Niki Saviano had the loss on the mound. She (3-3) threw three innings and gave up three hits and three runs, two earned.
Lakeland scored in the third inning. Saviano walked and she came home on Hilton's double up the middle. Rowan took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Smith blasted a home run to right field, scoring pinch runner
Kristina Mueller (so. Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) and second baseman
Carly Anderson (so. Nutley, NJ/Nutley). In the sixth, Smith walked and Gerard singled to left center. Breuninger's base hit moved Smith to third and Gerard to second. DeDomenico posted a double to center field. Smith and Gerard both scored on the double.
Against Muskingum, right-hander
Ashley Lesch (jr. Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls) was the winning pitcher and rookie
Lauren Shannon (fr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) earned a save. Lesch (1-0) started and pitched four innings. Shannon went the final three innings and only surrendered one hit. Righty Rachel Eberling was the losing pitcher.
Left fielder
Mia Baldassari (jr. Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Morris Knolls) and second baseman
Gianna Decker (so. Southampton, NJ/Seneca) each had one RBI for Rowan. Gerard was three for three at the plate with one double and one run. Center fielder
Gianna Genello (so. West Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell) and Mueller chipped in with one hit and one run apiece.
Muskingum's two runs came in the first inning. Catcher Jolyn Shunk and shortstop Jessica Matthews produced back-to-back RBI doubles. Rowan followed with one run in the top of the second. With one out, Gerard doubled to right field and she scored on Decker's single to center field.
The Profs went ahead in the third inning. Mueller led off with a single and she stole second. Genello walked and advanced to second on wild pitch while Mueller went to third. Baldassari's sac fly brought Mueller home. Genello moved to third and came home on an error by the shortstop.
Next, Rowan (6-0) plays SUNY Plattsburgh on Saturday, March 11 at 11:15 a.m. and Gustavus Adolphus College at 1:30 p.m.
