Box Score 2 GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's volleyball team suffered two losses in its home quad match on Saturday. The Profs fell to New York University, 3-1 and #25 Stevenson University, 3-0.
Rowan is 11-16 overall, the Violets are 7-20 and the Mustangs have a 27-1 record. In the other matches on Saturday, Stockton University (19-9) defeated NYU, 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-20) and Stevenson topped the Ospreys, 3-1 (25-27, 25-20, 25-19, 25-19).
The set scores against the Violets were 20-25, 25-23, 25-19 and 27-25. Middle blocker Rayne Ellis (sr. Macon, GA/Mount de Sales Academy) and outside hitter/defensive specialist Nazzerine Waldon (jr. Conyers, GA/Rockdale County) totaled 20 and 13 kills respectively. Setter Zel Fortson (so. Calabasas, CA/Viewpoint) tallied 33 assists and setter Daryl Mitchell (jr. Douglasville, GA/Chapel Hill) added 10. Libero Jacqueline Kupeli (fr. Danville, CA/Monte Vista) produced 19 digs while defensive specialist Grace Napolitano (sr. Westlake Village, CA/Oaks Christian) and outside hitter Kate Glavan (fr. Edina, MN/Edina) contributed with 13 and 10 digs respectively.
Rowan outside hitter/opposite
Kailey Gallagher (so. Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) recorded 13 kills and outside hitter
Taylor Modica (fr. Newark, DE/Appoquinimink) had 12. Setters
Katelyn Paxson (so. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) and
Tori Mock (fr. Chadds Ford, PA/Archmere Academy (DE)) amassed 19 and 18 assists respectively. Paxson also had 12 digs. Middle hitter
Erin Keegan (jr. Fairfield, NJ/West Essex) registered 14 digs and libero
Amy Staiber (so. Morton, PA/Ridley) had 13.
The set scores versus the Mustangs were 25-16, 25-23 and 25-18. Outside hitter Annika Schwartz (sr. Damascus, MD/Damascus) paced Stevenson with 14 kills and 12 digs. Setters Julie Nightwine (so. Mechanicsburg, PA/Cumberland Valley) and Caroline Dangel (so. Sykesville, MD/Liberty) totaled 22 and 19 assists respectively. Defensive specialist Megan Hren (sr. Baltimore, MD/Mount de Sales) chipped in with 11 digs while defensive specialist/libero Deanna Bradbury (sr. Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central Reg.) had eight digs and three service aces.
Outside hitter
Megan Jacobi (so. Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area) posted eight kills for the Profs. Paxson notched 12 assists and Mock added 10. Paxson also had three service aces. Keegan, Staiber and outside hitter/right side
Kristin Akin (jr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) tallied nine, eight and seven digs respectively.
Rowan travels to conference opponent William Paterson University on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.
