GLASSBORO, NJ – The New York University men's swimming and diving team defeated Rowan University, 176.5-116.5 in the season opener on Saturday.
Eric Feuerstein (sr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) was the winner in the 100 and 200 freestyles with times of 47.14 and 1:45.35 respectively. He also had a third place (21.94) in the 50 free. Rookie
Youssef Elshenawy (fr. Bayonne, NJ/Saint Peter's Prep) won the 200 butterfly in 1:56.46 while
Nick Marte (sr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) took first (51.52) in the 100 butterfly.
Mike Grubb (jr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) totaled 249.65 points in the one-meter diving for second place. He was also second (261.40) on the three-meter board.
Chad Shire (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) took third in the one (228.00) and three-meter (241.90) diving.

Matt Grubb (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.),
Jake Kayati (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Woodstown) and
Kevin Gillooly (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) were on the second place (1:35.76) 200 medley relay. Lawton had a fifth place (54.74) in the 100 backstroke.
John Tepper (sr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Technology) finished third (10:03.76) in the 1000 freestyle and fifth (4:55.51) in the 500.
Kyle Printon (fr. Somerset, NJ/Bishop George Ahr) took third (1:46.42) in the 200 freestyle and he was fourth (4:55.46) in the 500.
Matt Grubb touched third (1:00.24) in the 100 breaststroke and he was fourth (2:19.15) in the 200 breaststroke.
Gillooly came in fourth in the 100 (54.66) and 200 (1:59.47) backstrokes.
Nate Wojtowicz (jr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) had a fourth place (49.31) in the 100 freestyle.
Dylan Regan (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) tied for fourth (22.07) in the 50 free.
Matt Smits (fr. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) had a fifth place (10:19.86) in the 1000 freestyle.
