PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rowan University men's swim team suffered its first loss at Division I La Salle University, 124-76 on Saturday.
Jesse Novak (sr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) won the 50 free in 21.18. The 200 freestyle relay swam a winning time of 1:25.95 with Novak,
Nick Marks (sr. Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic),
Jake Kayati (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Woodstown) and
Eric Feuerstein (jr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit).
The 400 freestyle relay had a second place finish in 3:15.66. The relay consisted of
John Tepper (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Tech.), Feuerstein,
Anthony Czar (sr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) and
Nate Wojtowicz (so. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County). The 200 medley relay of
Dan Lawton (so. Yardley, PA/Pennsbury),
Matt Grubb (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.), Marks and Novak came in second (1:35.49).
Adam Sicinski (so. Allentown, PA/Parkland) took third in the 200 individual medley (2:01.94) and 100 backstroke (53.89). Marks had a third place (52.48) in the 100 butterfly. Czar's time of 48.78 in the 100 free was good for third and
Marc Gernhardt (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) followed fourth (49.85).
Paul Long (sr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) and Tepper finished third (1:47.57) and fourth (1:48.01) respectively in the 200 freestyle. Tepper also had a fourth place (4:54.25) in the 500 freestyle. Lawton finished fourth (55.50) in the 100 backstroke.
Next week, Rowan (7-1) travels to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday, Feb. 4 for a 1 p.m. meet.
