Box Score LANCASTER, PA – The
8 Rowan University men's soccer team remains undefeated after a 2-1 victory at 6 Franklin & Marshall College.
The Profs are now 8-0 overall and the Diplomats are 5-1-2. This is the third win for Rowan over a top-10 team this season. The Profs have won their first eight games for the first time since starting 10-0 in 2002.
Rowan scored the game-winning goal at the 60:29 mark when back
Ryan Logar (fr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) deflected in a corner kick by midfielder
Jake Conners (jr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan). The Diplomats had a chance to tie the game with 5:25 left, but Profs' goalie
Kyle Dennis (so. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) dove to his right to stop a penalty kick.
Dennis stopped eight shots in the contest. Diplomats' goalie Dave Reingold (sr. Marlboro, NJ/Colts Neck) made three saves.
Franklin & Marshall tallied the first score of the contest when forward Ugo Okoile (so. Lagos, Nigeria/Mercersburg Academy) hit the back of the net from 25 yards out with 18:39 on the clock in the first half. Rowan tied the game with 6:26 remaining as forward
Shane Doherty (so. Delran, NJ/Delran) headed the ball past the keeper off an assist from forward
Zack Sakena (so. Upper Twp., NJ/Ocean City).
Next, Rowan hosts William Paterson University on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
