Box Score 2 JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Rowan University softball team swept New Jersey City University, 30-2 and 13-3 in a conference doubleheader on Saturday. Both games were five innings because of the eight-run rule.
The win in the opener marked coach
Kim Wilson's 650
th victory at the University. In 20 seasons, she has compiled a 651-221 won-loss record. Her overall coaching mark stands at 715-278 (26 years). Rowan totaled 35 hits and eight home runs. The eight home runs broke the school record of four versus NJCU in 2010. The team has a total of 44 homers, which surpassed the University mark of 38 (2013). The Profs had 35 hits and 28 RBIs, which were both Rowan records. The previous mark was 23 RBIs against SUNY Cortland (1994) and 22 hits (twice) versus Cortland (1994) and Lynchburg College (1998).
The Profs are 29-7 overall and 12-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Gothic Knights have an 11-23 record with a 0-14 conference mark.
Right-hander
Beth Ann Hyland (sr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) was the winning pitcher in the first game. She (17-3) threw three shutout innings and struck out eight batters. Righty

Right-hander
Allison Nolan (sr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown S.) only allowed one hit in three innings for the victory in the second contest. She (3-0) had four strikeouts. Christina Mezey (fr. Jersey City, NJ/Saint Dominic Academy) had the loss on the mound.
Shortstop
Shilah Snead (sr. Malaga, NJ/Delsea Reg.) led the Profs with four hits (four at bats), a double, one home run, four RBIs and three runs. Genello went three for three with one RBI and three runs. Anderson had two hits, a homer and two runs. Sims scored twice. Designated player
